Intended for high-school aged students.

Debate is the exercise of argumentation in public. Individuals are placed in teams with which they may prepare their cases through research and collaborative preparation. They are then called to present their cases in public, employing their oratory and logic to persuade their audience.

Debate offers numerous benefits.

Critical thinking

Improve your ability to think outside the box, consider issues from many aspects, and analyze information objectively

Practice your ability to speak in English in front of an audience. Master oratory techniques which will allow you to negotiate, argue, and deliberate.

Improve dialectical thinking to form well constructed and persuasive arguments. Engage with important issues from both sides.

Learn how to find evidence which will support your arguments, while also critically examining the validity of your examples and research.

Work with others both in preparation and during a debate. Learn to responsibly help the team while trusting teammates to do likewise.
